The biologically control of malaria and dengue using larvivorous fishes is an important programme in the 20th century in urban and peri urban areas for developed and developing countries. Watersheds in the form of drainage, channels, ditches, pools and small ponds in the urban areas serve as ideal breeding sites of several mosquito species We have identified more than 10 indigenous fishes and tested in lab. These fishes provided dual benefit by reducing mosquito population and indirectly the fish farming economics.
